Fun

Saturday

January 15, 2013

Confession: This is not this past Saturday. I figured you’d rather see this happy version of a Saturday 2 weeks ago: pancakes, shopping, and Whole Foods.

What actually took place on Saturday: tissues, humidifiers, loads of dirty crib sheets, dark circles from sleepless nights, and more unmentionables (I’ll spare you the disturbing mental pictures).

The boys have croup. It hasn’t been pretty. And Ryan and I have officially nominated ourselves for the, “we are DEFINITELY full blown parents now” award. But you know what? It’s been a great excuse for extra cuddles, staying in pjs a little longer than we should, and more family bonding. It’s amazing how coughing attacks followed by vomit spells can make everyone love each other just a little bit more. Oops. And there I went breaking a promise. Sorry friends.

In other news, Gage loves olives. And absurdly strong cheeses, for that matter. Like more than the free cookies you get at the grocery store. We like to classify this as having sophisticated taste rather than odd. Oh you’re right. He’ll also take the cookie!

Just like his dad – not one to ever turn down free food!

Croupie cough has been our nemesis from toddler to Pre teen- hang tough! Love the “cured olives” in the background…… could be a “sign” for the natural cure for the blasted seal coughs? 🙁

It’s so bitter flipping cold lately here in Colorado and I swear, everyone is sick! Whole Foods always makes me happy and sneaking mitten covered fingers out to nosh a cookie is also pretty swell. Take the good and the barf covered bad I suppose :0) I found your blog via Pinterest and just love your tips and tricks. I have ten minute curls bouncing sweetly as we speak. Hope your fam is on the mend!

  • Danielle January 16, 2013 at 6:38 pm

OH MY GOODNESS. As an English person, that looks like the best breakfast EVER. You guys have the pre-noon food thing *nailed*. How fun doing the groceries and things as a family and making an event out of it 🙂 it’s all about the little things.

Hi Missy! I am a newly found lover/follower of Pink Pistachio. Your blog is amazing and you have the most adorable little family! You have even inspired me to start writing my own blog. Speaking of, can you give me some insight as to how I would go about doing that? Hehe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Looking forward to your next post! 😉
