Pieces of My Heart

August 4, 2013

With Motherhood, there’s a tendency to forget your babies won’t be babies forever. The hours are long and the years are short. Then, in the sweetest of moments you’re reminded to cherish it — for one day they’ll be grown.

Tiny hands touching tiny hands. Little giggles and little squeals. Little kisses and smashed noses — precious little moments that bring the greatest love.

When Beckam reaches with both hands to be held, just so he can rest his head against my shoulder for a head rub. Or when Gage blows bedtime kisses and whispers, ‘Love you to the moon and beyond!’ at least 10 times after I’ve gone.

I find myself in these little pieces.

Separate tiny pieces that when put together, make life completely whole.

There is no greater happiness than being their Mother.

Wow… amazing how you worded that when I’ve thought so long how to express those feelings. I found your blog recently and enjoy your posts as a fellow mother of two boys. Mine are now 13 and 10! The years go too fast… Enjoy every minute!

Just beautiful. It reminds me to stop and enjoy the small things with my own two.

Your words are so true. We are getting ready to drop our oldest off at college and it seems like only yesterday that we were her best buddies next to Winnie the Pooh. Enjoy every second but it goes by in a flash! Continue to document precious moments like these because you’ll need something to remind you how sweet they were once they become teenagers (I have four teens right now…/: ) and you’re not the center of their universe anymore. 🙂

I agree that taking the time to document these precious moments while your babies are small will help you to cherish and remember all the times you had with them when they are grown. I also think it’s so cool that your sons will hopefully be able to look back on this when they are older and see how much you did for them, and how much they are loved.
