Bringin’ Classic Back

April 7, 2011

I told myself I wouldn’t be an OOTM. It’s pronounced “Oh-Tum”, my lovelies. Technically it’s a One Of Those Moms -the type that caves in and gives their kid anything they want at the store. It makes me want to yank the OOTM by her handbag and say, “Um, no. I’ll say no for you, if you want. For crying balderdash!?! This isn’t doing your Sniglet, or you, any good.”

Instead I picture the whole horrific (purse grabbing-bizniz giving-kid flailing-mother-freaking) scene in my head, whistle, and stroll pass pretending they’re not teaching Brathood 101 to their child. Nope! Just keep on walkin’. Most days…

But not today. I became an OOTM. *GASP* I know, right? Not cute. But not bc Bubba was beggin’ for a toy – but bc I was! Just look at those vintage cuties! Way better than the gagging-neon-lights-flashing-fire-alarm-roaring “new” toys. I’ve been a mother for 10 months now. And I’m already over the “new” version of toys. So refreshing, bringin’ classic back.

I caved. Mama Bubba got the Chatter Telly. Embarrassingly enough, I’m already penny scowering parking lots to save up for Snoop Dawg.

I love these toys! They are the best!! I only wish my parents would have held on to all of ours! They would have come in handy!

And go figure – this also happens to be his favorite! Sometimes always new doesn’t carry the next tag line… “and improved”

Wouldn’t be surprised. All of us are just sweet lil’ kids just trying to “act” the part as adults…

I got Lanie that phone for Christmas. They love it! And it’s extra special since it’s in Toy Story 3 🙂 I agree, classic toys are the best. The nostalgia isn’t bad also. 🙂
