Airbrushed Makeup

June 14, 2013

I’ve heard of brides and actors using it; but I never knew airbrushing could be done at home! After having my makeup done for THIS event, I was bound and determined to try TEMPTU for myself. You guys, it’s been life-changing. And now I’m dying to play pretend makeup artist on all of my friends.

I have heard and seen a lot of great reviews on Temptu! I definitely need to try this, not only do you look amazing in this video but I am sure it was fun to use also lol.. Great video girl 🙂

    Xo,
    Sincerely Miss Ash

I’ll be your friend and you can practice on me. Looks really cool!

  • Court Star @ StarSystemz June 14, 2013 at 7:46 am

I am obsessed with AIRBRUSH makeup! I used to use Luminess that they sold on TV late at night but the makeup would go bad fast and it would come off a splash of water! I will have to try Temptu because I LOVED the way Luminess looked I just wish the formula lasted longer. Thanks for sharing beauty 🙂 Love + Shine CourtStar

  • Jennifer June 14, 2013 at 10:25 am

That’s pretty cool although your makeup was always flawless anyways but what a nifty idea 🙂

  • Michelle June 14, 2013 at 12:14 pm

I want a Temptu so much 🙂 After hearing Emily Maynard uses it, I’ve been eyeing it up! Now you have completely sold me on it. I am having airbrush makeup for the first time for my wedding and it would be awesome to be able to do this everyday! Thanks so much for the tutorial! You always explain things so well !

    Great news…..
Urban Decay is having a sale (via their website) and the lucky eye pencil is on sale for $9.50. Thankfully we can all stock up.

  • Stefanie June 14, 2013 at 5:14 pm

I’ve always wanted to try this! How long does a pod last before needing to resupply?

  • Lindsay White June 14, 2013 at 5:52 pm

Practice on me and Addie 🙂

  • Melanie June 14, 2013 at 7:11 pm

I have wanted to try this ever since I started following Michelle Money and Emily Maynard from Bachelor. I’m so close to buying one but now that I’ve seen you do it, I think you have sold me. Also, I love your 2nd day hair. I have been able to go about 4 days, but it’s worth it for our blonde right!

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:19 pm

Way to go on every 4 days! AWESOME! I’m every 5-6 now… shh. Don’t worry, I still wash my body. That’d be sick nasty! ha!

    • Leah August 20, 2013 at 1:38 am

What dry shampoo do you use?

  • Dee June 14, 2013 at 10:18 pm

Thank you so much for the kind offer

  • Lorie schnell June 14, 2013 at 11:25 pm

Do you know where I can buy this product?? I live in Ontario Canada. And the price?

    • Lorie schnell June 15, 2013 at 12:58 am

Found a store who sells it! Thank you anyways!

      • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:18 pm

        Woot woot!

  • Lilly June 15, 2013 at 1:56 am

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:18 pm

Although I LOVE anne marie skin care, since I ran out I’ve tried another brand that I’m equally in love with. I’ll be doing an updated skincare post soon! Stay tuned! xo

  • Kendra June 15, 2013 at 5:55 pm

You are such a babe! I want this airbrush business!

  • Lara Williams June 16, 2013 at 6:16 am

I am totally going to go buy this and check it out. On another note, I am a fellow blonde and have a hair question for you. Do you get your hair foiled professionally or do you do it yourself. I am not as blonde as you, but very light. I’m so sick of getting my roots done every 5 weeks. Any tips? If I could get away with a drugstore product I would, but just thought I’d ask because I love your blonde! Thank you!

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:17 pm

I wish there was a trick to keep me out of the salon every 5 weeks too! I get it foiled.

  • Brittany @ kitchen::candid June 16, 2013 at 11:58 pm

Lovely!! I haven’t thought about airbrushed makeup but I am loving how fresh it looks! Do you happen to know if the makeup is paraben-free?

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:16 pm

Yes, it’s paraben-free… I wouldn’t recommend it for you all, unless it was 🙂 xo

  • Jasmynn June 17, 2013 at 1:09 am

Loved this post! Although, I love all your posts! I just bought my Temptu, can’t wait to try it. Also, I love your top where is it from?

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:13 pm

Meep! So excited for you! LMK how you like it! Top is from American Apparel. All of us have several after I bought my first. They’re so soft and comfy!

  • Anna Bradley June 17, 2013 at 10:43 pm

I am so tempted to splurge and buy the starter kit! Maybe I’ll just sell some of my clothes and adjust my budget accordingly…. 😉

By far, my favorite part of the video is when you’re talking to your son. And then when you go check on him. Such a patient and sweet mom. And I hate to say it but his little whimper is so so so CUTE.

  • Natalie June 18, 2013 at 1:15 pm

I have been stalking the Temptu website ever since you posted about it. They have a four day sale going on right now… 25% off! I’m definitely buying one now. And since there’s a sale maybe I’ll even grab a couple extra items. If you were going to buy another blush or highlighter which colors would you choose?

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:10 pm

WOOT WOOT! I’m going to be stocking up, myself! Thanks for letting us know! I’ll be sure to post the sale on FB too, in case others miss it. I want to try peony pink or blushing coral for summer as well as the bronzer!

  • Melanie June 18, 2013 at 2:34 pm

Hi, I am absolutely in love with your blog. However, I find it really bothersome that since I looked at this video, Temptu ads are popping up on every website I go to. This kind of advertising I find very aggressive, and I wish your blog wouldn’t use it!
    With love, Mel

    • missy June 18, 2013 at 3:05 pm

I’m so thankful for your support and don’t know why ads are popping up? I haven’t made agreements with any ad agency or anything like that. I’d recommend clearing your browse history and/or cookies and see if that takes care of it! Sorry, friend! xo

  • Carrie June 19, 2013 at 4:17 pm

Love it & I’ve been wanting one toooooo!!

  • Ammie June 20, 2013 at 2:48 pm

What is the finish like on this makeup (dewy, powder, matte) and how does it wear throughout the day? I’ve been a huge fan of mineral makeup for many years but have noticed that it has started to settle into the fine lines of my face. I have been considering going back to a liquid foundation (Le Métier) but this video has me curious.

    • missy June 21, 2013 at 1:51 am

It’s a bit dewy but then again it’s humid right now. When I first tried it in California it seemed more matte finish. I’ve only worn BareMinerals until now. I’ve even tried a bit of both… starting with a BB cream, then airbrush, finish with BareMineral’s mineral veil. I think you’d like it!

  • Kim June 21, 2013 at 3:35 am

I’ve been wanting to try this forever and the friends and family deal made the decision- just ordered. We will be traveling soon, did you get the travel bag for this? Is it worth it if traveling with the temptu? Just curious while the sale is on….. Thanks!

    • missy June 21, 2013 at 3:55 am

It came in a clear bag that I think would work fine for traveling as long as you stick it in the middle of your suitcase (padded on both sides with clothing). Excited for you to give it a go!!!

  • deveney June 22, 2013 at 9:38 pm

Hello friend! Beautiful tutorial, I have totes been wanting to try airbrush, but I have always been worried about over-spray. Do you feel like it makes a mess of the counter or floor below?? So happy to see you happy:)

  • Molly June 24, 2013 at 3:52 am

I’m super excited to put this on my birthday wishlist! (and my sisters would love me!) A few quick questions:
Do you apply your normal face lotion before starting the airbrush?
What do you recommend for an oilier skin type?
Do you just apply a thicker coat or use a concealer for problem areas?
Also, for a copper eyeliner, I like MAC’s “teddy” or maybe the “copper strip.”
    P.S. : you’re adorable!

  • Jenn M. June 24, 2013 at 4:17 am

I’m equally as obsessed with the UD Lucky pencil and am super bummed they discontinued it. But! It’s still on their site under the sale section for $9.50! I’m stocking up while I can

    • Morgan W. June 27, 2013 at 3:47 pm

I’ve been using the UD “Smog” as a replacement to the “Lucky” pencil…it’s a little different but still a copper look!

  • Morgan W. June 26, 2013 at 12:46 am

Hello! I just found your blog and I so much appreciate your genuine attitude and transparency with your readers! I have a question regarding your hair actually…do you get regular highlights? If so..what kind of highlights do you get? Last time I got my hair highlighted I must have gone to a bad salon or purchased the wrong product because it damaged my hair:(

  • Kelly June 26, 2013 at 1:53 am

Ordered my own Temptu system after watching your video!! Should be here tomorrow, can’t wait to try it out!

  • Taylor C July 31, 2013 at 1:53 pm

Ordered one and have used it a few times. Works great, but I am left with a shine, almost a wet look. Any advice on how to cover that up? I dont want to put powder over it after I just used the airbrush– seems like a waste!

    • missy July 31, 2013 at 6:57 pm

Do you happen to live in a humid climate? I noticed a more dewey look when using it in humidity – but in dry climates it took to my skin differently. Perhaps start with a bit of a powdered base before applying.

  • Julie Kizer December 27, 2014 at 3:11 am

Do you still like doing the airbrush makeup? I am trying to decide if I should buy it or now. Thanks!! Btw..I love your blog!!!

  • Elsa March 26, 2015 at 12:18 am

    Hello,

So I just got this system and I seem to be having problem with making it work. I don’t know if i am doing something wrong, but not much make-up comes out. Are there any tips you can give me to make it work? thanks
