A Stroll Around The Block

The weather is unusually pleasant for this time of year. In fact, I’m still able to take boytoy on 2 walks during the day. Not looking forward to the sticky summer when the only time we can squeeze in a 15 minute’er is at daybreak {already a stifling humid 78 degrees). “K kid, see the bird? And the bunny? Oh oops. You missed them? Uh. Sorry. Have to race ’round the block to beat the sun from rising! There’s no time to waste! We don’t want to melt before we’re home! You mean, this isn’t fun for you?” Yeah, it’s a real downer.

But not today. It was perfectly beautiful this afternoon! In fact, we stopped at each house to find something to stare at and enjoy. It’s the little things, friendlies. The things that make us enjoy special moments together. We even make up games. Bubba made up our latest… “Spot the Flowers.” I’ll stroll passed a house as he goosenecks around the side of the stroller to see if any flowers are planted. If he spots some, he starts flapping his arms and pointing! If he points before I say, “flowers” then he gets a point. If I point before he says, “flowers” then I get a point. Oh wait. He doesn’t talk yet. Eeek! I love winning! But it’s because he lets me. He’s tender and sweet like that.

And yes, maybe we did race ’round the block on the home stretch! But not because we were melting. {swoon} No, just my heart! Hearing Bubba giggle and squeal {while running as fast as I can} is complete joy at its fullest!
