The Cat Eye

July 21, 2011

1. Wet & Wild Liner 2. Maybelline Stiletto Mascara 3. Almay One Coat Dial-Up

– The firmer you press the liquid liner, the thicker the line. I like mine fairly thin with a thicker wing, the outer sweep.

– Apply several coats of mascara after applying the liner (didn’t demonstrate via tutorial). With this look I use 2-3 coats of lengthening mascara followed by 2-3 coats of volumizing mascara (on level 3). Leave bottom lashes bare or lightly apply a dusting of mascara.

– A bold lip is perfectly kosher with this look!

That’s hilarious. My husband said a similar thing, were we or are we listening to music now. Perhaps I should eliminate the background music to save us all confusion! ha!

Thanks for the tutorial! I’ve always wanted to do this look, but I’m too scared! I think you’re so cute, so I’m watching all your other tutorials now. Is that weird? Hope not!

    • missy July 21, 2011 at 11:21 pm

Haha! Not weird… extremely flattering! You’re so sweet! Thanks, Amy! xo

    Now that’s a sexy cat eye!! 😉 Some days I get the lines right, sometimes I don’t…it’s a luck game! Maybe I need a stencil…such a cheater, I am 😉

Not kidding… putting your elbow on the counter gets a straight line every time (even if you do have to do several strokes! ha!).

Love this! you are so adorable! Wish I could get my liner that straight..I always end up looking like cleopatra when I used liquid eyeliner.. have only used cream liner but even that needs practice. gonna try again though thanks to this push..so pretty!!

I came across your site via pinterest and then just browsing through your posts. So I know I’m about a year late, but just wanted to offer you some tips of my own! If you start with a thin line of black eyeliner (using pencil), there’s less to “fill in” and it is easier (in my opinion) to get all the way down to the lash line. Makes your look appear crisper and even more dramatic. and I have a liquid liner that a friend turned me on to, called L’OREAL LINEUR INTENSE FELT TIP LIQUID EYELINER, and it deserves the caps. It is super easy to use, and easy to make very thin or thicker lines. I highly recommend it!
