Valentine Breakfast (Day 11)

February 12, 2013

It was our 2nd annual family Valentine breakfast – a tradition we started last year dedicated to love of our children. Picnic food, expressions of love for each child (more on that in tomorrow’s post), and taking our sweet time enjoying each others company.

Beck and I had a little strawberry game going on (dangling it over his face and poppin’ it on his nose… belly laughed for a whole 5 minutes! heaven).

Gage ate half of the “blee-blee bread” himself and took on a new fascination with the peppermill – trying to convince us everything (including toys) needed more pepper! ha!

And how about LuLu, constantly eyeing the soufflé like it was her last meal?! Her adorable eyes and content way of waiting patiently had me sharing mine with her!

Picnicking in a playroom with the ones I love most, couldn’t make a Mama more happy.

Lounge pillows – c/o Polka dot Pears (use code: “LOVEIT” for 14% off)

Sandwich Boards + Serving Tray + Menu – c/o Peg & Awl

Kissing Quilt – c/o Antique Quilt Revival

Blueberry Biscuits – here, Souffle – recipe coming soon.

Inspiring for our own Valentine’s Day breakfast! Love you grey t-shirt, where did you get it?

    • missy February 12, 2013 at 2:55 pm

It’s Zara (not sold online but bought this past fall). You could always call a store near you and see if they can ship it to you, if they still have it. (Tete a tete t-shirt)

    • missy February 18, 2013 at 6:43 pm

We were going to make last year’s brioche french toast a staple… but ended up switching it up last minute!

Hi Missy Where is the shirt Gage is wearing from? I have a little boy and love the henley but they are hard to find! Thanks

    • missy February 18, 2013 at 6:44 pm

I bought it through Rue La La. I’ll have to double check on the actual brand. Zara has some adorable henley’s for boys right now.

This is a great idea. How sweet!

  • April February 13, 2013 at 8:15 am

Hi missy! I recently discovered your blog and I have to say, I am obsessed! I really do appreciate all the high quality photos. Is that just you and your husband capturing all those precious moments?! Looks so professional.
Random question: where did you get those strawberries with the stem?? I’m in California.

    • missy February 18, 2013 at 6:47 pm

Yes, it’s my Husband and I who do the photography… we’ve learned/stumbled through it together. The strawberries are long stemmed from Whole Foods.

  • Heather ODell February 13, 2013 at 4:56 pm

I am so doing this when my husband gets back. Who sends their employees to a training seminar on Valentine’s Day? I already pinned the blueberry biscuits when you first posted it, just haven’t made them yet.

  • Julie February 13, 2013 at 5:43 pm

    Hi Missy,
I love all of your ideas, especially this Valentines breakfast! The biscuits looks so yummy. Do you ever make them the night before, or always in the morning?
    Thank you!

    • missy February 18, 2013 at 6:48 pm

I always bake them fresh. We had 2 leftover for breakfast the next morning and they were still yummy!

  • elizabeth February 14, 2013 at 3:30 am

Who takes your photos? If you, then what lens do you use?

  • Brandi February 15, 2013 at 1:48 pm

This is such a sweet tradition friend. I love it. It would be too hard for me to pull this off on vday unless it was the weekend, but maybe I could use it for another holiday. Like a random Monday off of school. 🙂 cute! And i love the picnic boards! What a find!

  • Brandi February 15, 2013 at 1:49 pm

Ps- I found one of the porcelain strawberry baskets at Homegoods over Christmas. LOVE!!!

  • Rachel O. February 19, 2013 at 4:21 am

  • Jillian March 3, 2013 at 10:52 am

This is such an odd question, but where did you get your glassware? Love the design.

  • kylie March 13, 2013 at 8:58 pm
