Before you know it, we’ll trade short sleeves for sweaters and salads for soups. I have mixed feelings about it all. For the first time, I’m actually trying to hold onto summer a little longer, rather than wishing fall would rush in. To savor the season, we’ve designated Sunday evenings for picnicking in the park. And goofing around with ducks and rolling down ridiculously steep hills — making sure to take home grass stains as souvenirs!

Hey Missy! I hear ya! This is the first time for me as well where I didn’t want summer to end. Fall is fun and all…because that means Christmas is just around the corner….but this year I have been savoring the last days of summer and DO NOT want them to end. Not sure why. Maybe because it’s so much fun to watch my babies running and splashing around with the hose with huge smiles on their faces….or maybe it’s the AWESOME rainstorms we’ve been getting that helps cool everything down? I just know I don’t want it to end. I feel a sadness kind of. I can feel my life speeding by faster and faster, and before I know it, my children will be grown up and gone. I hate to think of that. So here’s to cherishing the summer months a little longer…and the rest of the time we still have with our children.

My summer disappeared too quickly! Recovering from childbirth and adjusting to life with the most precious little girl made summer simply fly by! I’m trying to soak up the last little bits of summer! After all, fall doesn’t officially start till the end of September, right?
