Spring Shoe-In

April 2, 2014

After months of keeping toes covered, it’s officially time to open things up. Here are six of my favorite trends for spring (see published article HERE)…

1. Wedges + Metallic

A good wedge is like a good pair of jeans; they’re essential to every wardrobe. This season, look for wedges with mixed media that include: metallic finishes, cork platforms, and cutout patterns. And just in case you’re wondering, yes, wedge sneakers are still kickin’ it this season.

2. Black & White + Oxfords

Anything and everything black and white goes this spring! Oxfords, loafer and pointy toes are all on trend. Combine two trends in one with this cap-toe, contrasting slip-on oxford.

3. Caged Sandals

Do as the Romans do; dress your feet in strappy leather — pops of color, prints, or metallic finishes all permissible! Try the trend with a classic ‘gladiator’ paired with the freshest way to wear your skinny or boyfriend jeans — a wide single cuff that hits just above the ankle. Or push the limits with knee-high caged sandals paired with skirts, dresses, or shorts.

4. Mesh + Cutout Booties

Out of all the trends this season, this one’s my favorite — mesh, cutout detailing in a bootie that shows a sneak-peek of skin! Look for models that lace up the front, have buckles and/or a peep toe!

5. Peep Toe + Blue

Navy, periwinkle, and royal blue are the new neutrals for spring. Take this fun mix between pump and peep-toe bootie to really make your feet fancy-free and oh-so chic!

6. Bright Pumps

Of course, spring wouldn’t be spring without pops of fresh color. Bright pumps add just the right about of surprise without being too in-your-face. Look for pumps in shades of vibrant orange, red, mint, orchid, and violet as your “must-have” colors for the season.

  • SARAH April 3, 2014 at 2:11 pm

I love the black zippered jeans you’re wearing in this post, where can I find them?

Yes I love that nail colour too!

Would love to see a post on how you wear skinny jeans/pants with different types of shoes. (scrunch, cuff, fold / sandals, heels, ankle booties etc., which pants don’t work with which shoes etc.)
