Breakfast Food Holidays

Rake, Pile, Eat!

November 19, 2013

  • Directions: 1 Prepare pancake mix according to package directions or favorite homemade recipe.  2 Pour batter into Wilton decorating bottle or even a turkey baster.  3 Preheat griddle on medium-low heat.  4 Melt butter on griddle.  5 Pipe stem, veins, and leaf outline. Let cook until dark brown.  6 Quickly pipe in the empty space and flip as soon as possible.  tip: the variegated color comes from cooking the outline longer than the inside.  7 serve with maple syrup, toasted pecans, and/or whipped cream. (my boys preferred eating them plain with their hands).

With Turkey Day right around the corner, gatherings with loved ones will be in full swing! I wanted to share a simple breakfast that’s sure to bring extra smiles to your holiday! And let’s be honest, you can make pumpkin pancakes from scratch or reserve your energy for the Thanksgiving feast (stuffing face with stuffing is hard work, am I right?) Besides, Trader Joe’s is the best sue chef on the block!

What an adorable breakfast! Way back in high school, the morning I was taking the SAT exam, my mom made me “S” “A” “T” shaped pancakes. By now I’ve forgotten my score but I sure do remember those pancakes!

How creative!!! You definitely get the #1 mom for breakfast award for those suckers. They can come in from playing in the leaves and have leaves to eat – in the most delightful flavor of fall. Awesome!
