Picnic Season (part 2)

June 7, 2012

Now that we’ve dusted off our picnic baskets, it’s time to fill ’em with yummies!

No matter what the occasion, or who you’ll be munching with, impress them with a fresh homemade (with love, mind you) spread!

Sure, it’s easier to mosy on down TJ’s prepackaged food aisle and fill your basket with a tub of hummus and what not. But I like to think every now and again, food made in your own kitchen makes the occasion that much more special.

To save you time browsing pinterest (the never ending black hole) or googling “picnic food pleasers” I’ve put together a spread I made for some friends awhile back.

Per their reviews, apparently the recipes are “blog worthy”. Oh and regardless of if you use these recipes for a picnic or not, might I add, the vegan chocolate cake is the easiest chocolate cake recipe you’ll ever make (it’s one of those fool-proof ones we all love).

Bon appetit!

I don’t know what’s more beautiful, these photographs or the idea of spending an afternoon in the splendor of the sunshine and grass!

I’m obsessed with the idea of that raspberry dip! Great Post!

DELISH! You have no idea how much I love quinoa salad – and thank you for posting a homemade Italian dressing recipe! I always prefer to make my own dressings where possible.

PS Is the Italian dressing supposed to go on the quinoa salad? Or is that just a dressing to be used on a regular green salad?

Yum, yum, yum! Love this post – can’t wait to try the Vegan Chocolate Cake.

I made the chocolate cake tonight. I happened to have all the ingredients on hand, so I had to try it! It was yummy! Thanks for the recipe!

I love all of these recipes. My hubby and I are going to the apple orchards this weekend and we were looking for something scrumptious and grown up to eat on our picnic. Thank you so much.
