Orla Kiely + DIY Stain Remover

August 28, 2012

Some exciting news to share, you guys! Aren’t those bottles beautiful? Guess what’s inside them? Oh heavens. That’s not the news. Well, it kinda is… but not really. Oh fart. I’m making you wait… and that’s just me bein’ a stink. So I’ll stop and tell you, already.

I’ve decided to partner with Method cleaning supplies for the next several months!

That being said, each month I’ll be sharing some of their newest products and how I’m using them in my everyday life. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to try them for yourself in an upcoming giveaway! It’s going to be awesome.

Method is just that. An AWESOME company that’s transparent about what they deliver because they’ve got nothing to hide. They disclose all of their ingredients (which are never tested on animals only people via skin patch testing) to ensure all their products are hypoallergenic as well as safe for our planet. If that’s not enough… ALL of their bottles are made from recycled plastics that can be recycled AGAIN which creates zero waste.

I’m all about that! And this GORGEOUS new limited edition Orla Kiely line that’s flying off Target shelves! Both stores nearest me are completely sold out.

Makes sense, considering the pear ginger dish soap made me want to lick my already clean dishes.

Which leads me to our tut…

A DIY stain remover that uses dishwashing bestie, Sir Pear Ginger! Don’tcha just love a guy that’s multifunctional and handsome? Swoon.

1) Scrounge up your nastiest stained clothing (I give you exhibit A: Husby’s sweat stained shirt collar. That’s what humidity will do to a guy… BTW he’s beyond embarrassed about this entire post)

2) Mix together all ingredients.

3) Apply mixture to the stain using a toothbrush. Make sure to remix between each application.

4) It’s safe to use even on colored garments (I give you exhibit B: Old spit-up stains from baby circa 2 years ago… yikes)

5) Let sit 45 min before laundering.

It works like magic. So much so that I’m hiding the bibs… because spaghetti’s for dinner and I want to play with more clothes!

Want to buy the Orla Kiely line online? Go HERE.

A special thanks to Method for sponsoring this post and sending me my very own bottle to try! Mwah!

  • Debbie Liu August 29, 2012 at 9:09 pm

This is awesome. What stains/material will it NOT work for? I don’t want to ruin anything worse by trying this.

    • missy August 29, 2012 at 10:04 pm

Ehhh… Well? I’ve only tried it on cottons and some bed linens. I’d hate for you to ruin anything either! Maybe test it in an area that’s not noticeable (i.e. the underarm)? Or just stick with cottons. If you’re unsure, best not to use unless you’re ok with the piece becoming a science project! haha! If you have luck with other materials let us all know so we can all benefit! Best of luck!

  • Jillian September 1, 2012 at 6:41 pm

Will this work with their colored dish soap? Or should I stick with their clear dish soaps, like the Orla Kiely stuff?

    • missy September 3, 2012 at 1:14 pm

I’m assuming it should work the same. 🙂

  • Ashleigh F September 9, 2012 at 3:28 am
