Lighting of the Torch

July 26, 2012

After my onion ring baking spree, I laid my head down to rest only to realize our Olympic snacks for Friday night’s opening ceremony would absolutely NOT be complete without something sweet! Gah!

You know what I mean…

Chances are, if you give Missy some french fries she’ll ask for a chocolate malt to go with it (I sound like that “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” book). But we’re talking Olympics (not books) and salty onion rings (not fries) and now sweet things (even if chocolate malts are my favorite).

So. Yeah.

In keeping with the Olympic theme, I dreamed up this little fire and ice duo. To make the fire swirl, I used classic Neapolitan ice-cream as my inspiration. Might I add that blood orange, mango, and lemon sorbet are hazardously delicious together! Um… wow.

Wish me a better night’s sleep. One where I don’t whip up ANOTHER olympic food necessity.

    Super cute!!
I’ve always had a major sweet tooth, I would take it over something savory ANY meal! 🙂

Can we be friends in real life? Seriously this makes me so happy. Onion rings, followed by ice cream. That’s my perfect day (followed by a 3 hour nap). Thanks for the great posts!
