Natural Beauty

April 5, 2012

Raise your hand if you’ve ever had clothes ruined by blueberries or the dreaded M word – yes, Colonel Mustard! Makes for a bad day for this clumsy blonde. Or maybe it’s because my belly is a giant bullseye for spills these days. Sheesh.

But in an Easter Egg’s case? That’s simply the point. Dyed hardboiled eggs make for the perfect mid-morning snack during the week leading up to Easter Sunday. Something about these naturally pigmented eggs make them extraordinarily beautiful and more appealing to eat.

Oh and a tip? Hate sharp eggshells that seem to stick when you’re peeling? Add a few splashes of white vinegar to the pot when boiling.

This is genius – I was just talking to another blogger about using natural dyes to revitalize hair colour and we were talking about all the different ones there are. Beautiful idea Missy!

Great idea! I use beet juice all the time for red velvet cake, but never thought of other items for other colors. Definitely will have to mark this when I need to dye something. Thank you!

P.S. hope your preggo is going well. almost there!

Great ideas! We had no luck with 100% grape juice, though 🙁 We made a gorgeous lemon yellow with curry powder from Trader Joe’s. Happy Easter!
