A Date With Gage

June 22, 2014

I thought I’d take him for a matinee with buttered popcorn. But he had better ideas: feed the ducks, have a picnic, and maybe get a special treat or something (his polite way of saying what he really wants … the little ‘or something’ at the end of a request). We were in luck to find so many fowls. Quite forward ones, at that — snatched the bread straight from his fingers! The little bouquet was all his idea for making our picnic look pretty. So cute!

After the park, we headed for ice-cream (or something – wink wink). I’ll admit, we sampled an embarrassing amount of flavors before deciding on sour cherry and malted chocolate. For me, watching him laugh over his dripping cone, was the highlight of our date. More pictures of him, HERE.

And for the grand finale — playing a tune or two on the street piano. It’s one of my favorite spots in all of Old Town. Occasionally it goes missing. We were both delighted today was not such a day.

Sweet boy, thank you for a date I’ll never forget! Let’s make sure we do another one, real soon! Love you, sugar.

[…] Also, I had every intention of just sharing snippets from our little outing; but when I scrolled through the ice-cream shots, I started laughing and crying (because my heart just couldn’t contain all of the love for this kid). So to heck with it. I posted almost all of them. And of course, the rest of the date will be coming to another post near you. […]
