I am a mother of two. My daughter turned 2 this Sept and my son turned 1 this Sept. So, we are busy parents. We also live in a rather small two bedroom apartment, but we don’t mind it so much. Every year we go to my parents for the holidays and my mother is the like the goddess of cleanliness! I have NO IDEA how she can KEEP her house so clean. I think it is amazing. I try so hard, but with my two little tornadoes running around all day it is just a disaster by the end of the day. AND since it is very small, it seem worse than it probably is. So, I guess my story is that I am in awe of those people who can keep their house so spotless. I think it is awesome…I’ll take any pointers you got!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Holidays everyone!

I just got back from visiting a family relative. She is a horrible house cleaner and just lives in filthy dirty chaos and likes it. She’s alot of fun though.
I have to scrub everything I take over there off with Method products from the kids, to all our clothes and myself when I get home to get that lady’s layer of patina off. We love the scents and the colors of the products. Makes cleaning kind of fun! Love these products!

  • Rachael November 14, 2012 at 2:03 pm

I don’t have to clean! Thanksgiving with my family at a church (120 of us, at least!) and then the next day drive to Chicago for dinner with the boyfriend’s families, one each Friday and Saturday. My biggest peeve is pet hair while I am eating, gross!

  • Elaine @ Cooking to Perfection November 14, 2012 at 2:03 pm

I’m traveling to visit family. I’m not really OCD about the cleanliness of other peoples’ houses except when they are cluttered. I don’t mind a dust bunny here or there but clutter drives me nuts, especially when the house is already packed full of guests.

With my five children, mother in law, my son’s friend, his girlfriend, a cousin from out of state, and my husband’s coworker all here at our house this year, deep cleaning starts a week before for me! Glass and mirror cleaning, appliance cleaning, and heavy carpet and furniture cleaning comes first. That way, next week I can focus on the lighter chores and early food prep!

  • Stephanie Hawkins November 14, 2012 at 2:20 pm

All I want is a clean bathroom! I hate being at someones house and their bathroom isn’t clean. I mean I don’t expect it to be spotless after having people over, but just clean, and fresh (as much as you can keep it fresh!)

I LOVE the holidays!!! AND i love cleaning and Method products. Every year we go through my son’s toys that he doesn’t use anymore and bag them up to donate to make room for any gifts he would receive from relatives and Santa.

The house gets re-arranged and things put away to make room for the holiday cheer/decorations that gets spread throughout the house for all to enjoy.

Wishing all a very blessed Holiday season!
Happy Cleaning ๐Ÿ™‚ LOVE me some Pink Pistachio! xo

Thank you for the giveaway! As a newlywed and new homeowner, I’m trying my best to take on my wifely roles ๐Ÿ™‚ For guests I try to minimize the damage as much as possible, and that means cleaning up my cat’s hair from the rugs. Also, the smell of a home can make or break it for your guests, so I use wallflowers for seasonal scents and try to eliminate any odors anywhere else. I LOVE Method products and use their hand soaps and dish detergents!

Taking extra time for the bathrooms and kitchen! I have a toddler so this usually happens during naptime and I always make sure I have a festive candle burning! We have our first Thanksgiving event on Sunday. My 2 year old son has been sick with pneumonia this week so Iโ€™m going to have to spent most of my Saturday cleaning and cooking for Sunday. Although itโ€™ll be a tad stressful, Iโ€™m still really excited.
I recently switched over to Method products thanks to your previous post about them. I have loved everything I have tried so far which has been the kitchen and bathroom antibacterial spray cleaners. I use them pretty much every day.
My plan is to put everything including all the toys in their spots then I will begin the deep cleaning. Floors, cabinets, countertops, tables, carpets, etc. It will be our first holiday event in our new home. I have to clean to impress. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Usually, as far as my cleaning routine goes, it ends up being a pretty peaceful situation. With friends and family ALWAYS willing to help it leaves me with nothing to do after the wave of relatives/friends have left……..However, it is an extreme annoyance when my silverware gets thrown in the dishwasher =( I always hand wash, even my not-so-nice stuff.
Love you reading you!!!!! First thing I click on with my coffee in the morning usually ends up a tie b/w you and pinterest ๐Ÿ˜‰

I follow this thorough cleaning process frequently:
Step 1.) see what cleaning has to be done.
Step 2.) call parents and inlaws and siblings to see if anyone else wants to do all holiday functions at their homes.
Step 3.) chuckle as you no longer have to clean because no one will see inside your house for the holidays except for you and hubby and if he wants it clean he can do it himself. I gots stuff to do.

  • Erin November 14, 2012 at 4:36 pm

I love spring/fall cleaning especially when I know my family will be coming over to inspect my home. Nothing like a little motivational cleaning! For me it has to smell clean or whats the point.

  • Amanda C November 14, 2012 at 4:38 pm

I travel all over the place for holidays and love every moment of it but the one thing I cannot stand is a dirty restroom, EW! If there are strange spots on the mirror (not from water), or a musty hand towel that you are not quite sure how long has been hanging there, the overflowing trash can or the pachyderm in the room… “residue” behind the toilet seat, I have a 4yr old son and a 31yr old Mr. and neither have perfect aim but clean that up!!! I love method cleaning products even more so now with my sweet baby girl born Sept 7th, her first holidays are almost here YAY Bria!!!

Every year we travel to my grandparents for Thanksgiving, and bless her little heart, little Nana just can not bear to throw anything anyway. So, my mom, my aunts, and myself have made it kind of a tradition to rummage through the house and help her get ready for the upcoming holiday festivities. We toss some of the best oldie-but-goody tunes on and find the MOST CUTESKI old pictures and knick-knacks. It’s actually become on of my favie parts of the ho-ho-holidays. Besides presents– but who doesn’t love those ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m a busy Mum to 3 kiddos with a “surprize” #4 due in the Spring! With the youngest two being twins only 16 months we have decided it’s best to leave the cooking for Turkey Day to family. This will be a worry free holiday at the In-Laws knowing our littles will be in a tidy home. Can’t stand going to play at a house where you are uncomfortable letting the kiddos touch the ground. Carpet needs to be fresh and vacuumed or it makes me crazy! With so much going on in our lives I’m happy to get away. Although in order to leave I’ll have to tidy/clean our house because I can’t come home to a dirty house. Happy Cleaning:)

My family is going to my in-law’s house for Thanksgiving this year! My house is a complete mess right now because we moved just before I found out I am pregnant! So with morning sickness up until this past week there are still some boxes to unpack, trim to be painted, and deep cleaning to be done before Christmas!

I can overlook a lot of things, but pet hair grosses me out more than anything. I am not really a dog or cat person (can you tell?) and seeing fur stuck to the couch where I’m supposed to sit is completely repulsive. Worst of all is when it is flying around in the air around the food. Gag me. Appetite lost.

I’m a complete clean freak. I devote my Sundays to doing all cleaning and laundry and if I don’t get it all done I will continue through out the week. And once I start cleaning one thing I have to clean everything or it will annoy me lol! Every cleaning supply helps!

  • Jessica November 16, 2012 at 9:04 pm

If I go into a relative’s house that was clearly only cleaned because people were coming over, there is this weird odor–cleaning products and the natural smell of the house. It gives me the creeps!

  • Jill November 16, 2012 at 10:42 pm

I’m lucky – I go to my in-laws for Thanksgiving and she is the tidiest lady I’ve ever met! Clean up is just wiping down the table after turkey time because she has a place for everything and it’s really easy to clean up.

My pet peeve would be smells. Cat pee, dirty trash, smoke…I can’t stand bad smells. Luckily not too many people I know have bad smells in their house. ๐Ÿ™‚

I plan to tidy up my own place by vacuuming. It’s amazing how much better the room feels after that.

Thanksgiving turns into a big hustle and bustle. Since I will be gone for the holiday, I like to make sure I leave my house in spotless condition – it’s one less hassle! I hate coming home to a dirty house, and these method products will be a great addition to my cleaning regiment!

  • Maca B. November 18, 2012 at 1:38 am

My husband and I always go to his aunt’s house for family Thanksgiving (my family doesn’t live in the US) and frankly, the place is always shiny and clean and all decked out in Thanksgiving gear. I think as far as holiday cleaning goes, being a big family we always try to help with anything. Some pick up the table, others do the dishes, collect napkins, etc. A family that cleans together, stays together? This is a great giveaway!

  • Megan Clubb November 19, 2012 at 5:08 pm

I LOVE METHOD PRODUCTS. Love the overall look of their products, their prices, and their consideration of our environment! Great with my allergies, too. This will be the first year to host Thanksgiving at my home which I am very excited about. Doing lots of “fall” cleaning, reaching places I don’t always reach during my routine cleaning (lots of things you listed in your spring cleaning post, thanks for the help). I also challenged my family to donate canned goods, turkeys, rolls, and other holiday foods for a local homeless shelter over the past several weeks. The night before Thanksgiving my extended family will take everything we’ve donated and collected together and go and serve over twenty families a complete Thanksgiving dinner, and I am so thankful and anxious for that experience. My pet peeves about a dirty home are organization (or lack there of), dust, and fingerprints, more reasons why I love Method so much; their products get the job done!
