Little Birthday Boy, Beck

May 15, 2014

Baby Boy Beck,

Today we celebrate two years with you! We celebrate you and all that you are — fuzzy towhead, bright baby blues, tough-guy walk, and all!

When we first found out you’d be joining our family, I was beyond excited! Instantly, I was more than I was before — a new mother all over again, and in a whole new way.  At the same time, I was a little apprehensive of this new uncharted chapter in motherhood — worried I wouldn’t have enough love to split between two. And you know what? You’ve shown me that love doesn’t divide, it multiplies. By two. And then some. Your space in my heart is a big one, that’s all your own — filled with soft kisses, bouncing balls, snorting pink pigs, your fizzy giggle, tender snuggles, and your constant wish to never leave my side. We’re friends. The best of friends. I hope you’ll always yearn to stay close to me. I need you as much as you need me, pal. Don’t you ever forget that.

You’re a lot like me; but even more like your dad when it comes to a few of your favorite things: scrambled eggs, french fries, ice-cream cones, and of course… candy.

You always remember to pray. You remind us all with your sweet folded hands — at meals, before bed, and when ambulance and firetruck sirens rush to an emergency. Your compassion is a gift.

You love LuLu (you call her ‘bug’) and always make sure to give her a good morning kiss, right on the nose. A little snuggle too. Frankly, you’ve always been soft with her. Never a tail tug or hurtful action. And she cherishes you for it.

Birds, airplanes, and garbage trucks are all a big deal. Oh and when Daddy comes home, too!

I love to sing you to sleep. And after I do — I linger a little longer, just adoring all your innocence and tiny features. Thanking our Heavenly Father for creating you just the way you are. And that you’ll always be mine. You’re absolutely treasured.

My wish for you on your birthday is to stay as sweet as you are today (and just as spunky, too), healthy and safe always. Happy Birthday, my little Beckam. I love you more each day.

Love,
Mama

He grew so fast I remember him being so small . I have a son that will be three in August and as much as I am grateful for the time I get with him it seems it flew by. I pray the same for my son as you! Happy Birthday Beck. May you live a long happy healthy life. 🙂
