Forever Made Digital

Nothing is closer to a Mother’s heart than her children — and the millions of pictures and keepsakes she captures to remember them by. In the digital age we live, keeping memories safe is easier than ever. But what about generations past and their treasured slides, film, photos and negatives, VHS and cassette tapes? Both sets of our parents have boxes and boxes in the basement just hoping to one day find a way to organize and keep them safe. Well, this year, I decided to do it for them for a combined Mother slash Father’s Day gift. With the help of Legacybox, preserving any format of outdated memories couldn’t be easier. They send a kit and guide; you package your old memories safely inside, mail it back (with the pre-paid shipping label), and then the professionals go to work turning them into simplified digital copies. Along the way, they considerately keep you in the loop via email to let you know the progress of their work. And then in a few short weeks, the box returns with all originals safely packaged, with the digital copies neatly and conveniently labeled on top. When our box returned, I couldn’t resist a quick peek —  tears immediately erupted watching old footage of my Mother’s third birthday and sorting through all of the finished pictures (can you spot me?). Thank you for the inspiration! We have been meaning to do something like this for my parents for forever!! I am so excited to see their faces when we watch the old home videos…and even more excited to be able to share these memories with my kids. What a great deal with the discount code!! Thanks again!

Beck looks so much like you! Love looking at family pictures. Great idea too – have boxes of slides from my dad that I keep meaning to sort out. Not sure this company caters to the UK. Xx

This is a game changer. It has always been a nagging goal to actually make something out of all the family memories stored in the boxes in the basement. Winner winner chicken dinner! Thank you for introducing us to Legacy Box. We are on to them for sure!

Your younger son looks SOOOO much like you!!!! Ok, but even more so, like your brother!!! (i’m assuming it’s your brother sitting on your Dad’s lap lol). I found old film from my husbands childhood and put them on DVD’s a couple of years ago and WOW did we have some laughs, most at his expense. haha!!! It’s hard for me to see how much our son looks like his Dad but the videos almost made that come to life. 🙂

Great idea! But how do you keep your pictures organized and where do you store them, since no one really does albums anymore??
