12 Hours Family Fun

Labor Day

September 2, 2014

Anyone else think having a Monday off is way better than a Friday? No Sunday night blues, rather popcorn and a big bucket of Red Vine licorice for watching movies. Yes, indeedie. The boys started the holiday morning playing 9 holes and then afterwards we headed to my sister’s house for blueberry pancakes (a specialty her husband makes for their family every weekend).  Ry, I wouldn’t mind should you learn to flip a mean flapjack every now and again… wink wink. The afternoon was relaxing soaking up the last bit of summer sun, running through sprinklers in undies (it’s better than naked, I suppose), and Beck watering everything in sight (his favorite being himself). Wrapping up the day, we picnicked in the park until the stars decided to join us. So thankful for my little family and for simple days like this one that remind you that nothing else matters.

    Glad you enjoyed your weekend!
I would love to see a post or video tutorial on layering hair showing the way your hair is cut. Your front layers look very long and I’m wondering if that contributes to the look of your hair when curled. Thx.

I’ll have to ask my stylist the best way to explain my layers, the next time I go in for a cut! Thanks for the suggestion!

Looks like the perfect weekend! Do you mind sharing where your cute sweater and ripped jeans are from? I was also wondering where you find all of the great quilts! Thank you and have missed your blogging! Hope you get into your new house soon!

Sweater is a from Target (mossimo)… bought in a size large for oversized comfiness. Jeans are Juicy Couture. All the quilts seems to find me! ha! I love rummaging through antique stores, online, and this one was gifted to me by my sister (a thrift find).

I NEED to know! How do you get such great lift and body at your roots??

    • missy September 4, 2014 at 4:53 pm

Haha! Sarah, you’re hilarious! My hair is actually dirty here – but dry shampoo (whether clean or dirty helps provide added body). You can lightly tease the underneath in sections to help as well. I did a post on it called, “dirty hair secrets”. Hope that helps!

What kind of cute sunnies are those on your noggin?? 🙂

    • missy September 4, 2014 at 4:54 pm

They actually aren’t branded — just snagged them forever ago at a small boutique in Utah. I really like my aviator Ray-Bans that have a similar feel as well.
