It’s been an October filled with: warm days, gorgeous leaves, long afternoon walks, mug-fulls of honeycrisp cider (thank you, Trader Joe’s), family nights making caramel corn and caramel apples, breaking in new boots, spiced candles, comfort food, picking pumpkins, eating eyeballs, reading Halloween books in bed, making costumes, and of course… decorating the house! It’s hard to believe we haven’t lived here longer — this will be our first year celebrating Halloween in our new home… eek! So so fun! The entire house is fairly neutral, so black and white accents seemed like the more obvious choice when choosing decor. The simple bats escaping from the fireplace, crawly spiders residing in a homespun twine web, with just a pop of orange, here and there. I’d be happy keeping it all up until it’s time to swap for red and green!

AH. MAAAAZING! How DO you do it! I love everything about all of these images. Decor, design – ALL OF IT! Can you come do design for my new home? (Or can I just have your office?) Would love if you did a home design series. The way you mix textures and tones is awesome. Thanks for giving us a peek into that wonderful abode of yours! Happy Halloween! Can’t wait to see the family costumes!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:37 pm

I’m no pro by any means; but I’ll see what I can do to put together some more design posts, in the future! Thank you for your kind words!

  • cathy g. October 29, 2015 at 3:26 pm

Sooo darling!!! I love to decorate for halloween too… and it’s extra fun because it’s my daughters birthday!!! Yep had her on Halloween!!! I remember the doctor telling me to get this baby pushed out before it got dark because he had to take his kids tricking or treating!!! Guess what! She was born at 5:30 pm!!!!! I have bats too …..I have some in the house and a few in by my front door!!! Also have that cider from Tradrer Joes!!! Love it!! Can’t wait to see what you’ll dress up as!!! Happy Halloween!!!!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:38 pm

What a fun way to celebrate a birthday each year! Birthday girl AND whatever she decides to dress as! DOUBLE the fun!

  • Laureen October 29, 2015 at 3:36 pm

Yes, how awesome has this CO fall been..?! OMG with your AHHHHHmazing home. It’s gorgeous. Where did you get the leaning mirror in the dining room? Would you ever consider a home tour/resources? I need to pin it all for when we build our home. 🙂 Also, love the festive, yet neutral decor.

    • Mish October 31, 2015 at 1:28 am

Yes a home tour would be fantastic – as I love the way you’ve decorated your house 🙂
We are only just starting to celebrate Halloween here in Australia, so it’s awesome to see how much effort you go to for the holiday.
My step son is living in Colorado and we face time with him once a week and he showed us his costume – so cool!

  • Brittany @ LemonLimeLife October 29, 2015 at 4:04 pm

Incredible as always Missy! You have a knack for all things domestic! We have extremely similar taste in decor and when we finally get to settle down in our dream home, I hope it looks half as beautiful as yours does. Where did you get your cowgirl boots? Love the color and stitching! <3

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:41 pm

The boots are by Durango 🙂

  • Hailey October 29, 2015 at 4:08 pm

Magazine worthy! OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! You really do do it all (cooking, kids, fashion, home) WOW… and do it right! I won’t ask where everything is from because that’s jus too much for us all to ask of you! It’s nice enough that you shared this much. Hoping others will be respectful of that.

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:42 pm

You’re making me blush, Hailey! Thank you kindly!!

  • Paige October 29, 2015 at 5:00 pm

Beautiful home! I love your decorating style. Can you PLEASE do a red lip tutorial! I’m trying to do some for Halloween and need your guidance.

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:42 pm

GAH! So sorry I didn’t respond before Halloween! Hoping it turned out just beautifully! Would you still like me to post one, after the fact? I can!

      • Paige November 4, 2015 at 6:56 pm

        Yes please!! ?❤️

  • Noelle October 29, 2015 at 5:28 pm

Wow your home is spot on!! Dreamy colors, cozy textures, and amazing design. I love everything about your home! Beautiful job on everything you do to make it look so amazing.

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:44 pm

Noelle, you’re too sweet! The goal in designing it was to create a soft sense of peace while being casual and comfy!

  • Johanna October 29, 2015 at 5:56 pm

Such a beautiful home ? I love everything about it, just gorgeous! You really do have a talent for interior design!☺

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:44 pm

      Thank you! xo

  • Bayleigh October 29, 2015 at 5:56 pm

These images definitely belong in a special Spooky Fall edition of Pottery Barn, seriously!! Everything is so beautifully coordinated and yet subtle enough where you could sub in the perfect accent décor any time of the year! Love your rustic take on this year’s Halloween?❤

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:45 pm

You’re beyond complimentary! Pottery Barn?! Oh man. Wouldn’t that be a dream come true!

  • Brianne October 29, 2015 at 6:19 pm

So beautiful!! I love everything about it! I have no idea how you do it all; and look so fabulous doing it! 🙂

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:46 pm

Don’t you be fooled, Brianne. There’s plenty of smudges on windows, laundry to be folded, and the likes… But I try my best. xo

  • Teri October 29, 2015 at 6:34 pm

Love it all! Do you mind sharing your paint color for your family room?

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:47 pm

Hi Teri! We used the same paint throughout the whole house. But honestly, I’m not much help because it was a custom color match. I couldn’t find anything that was “just right” to match our counters and so we made it up as we went.

  • Stephanie October 29, 2015 at 10:59 pm

Beautiful!!! Where did you get that awesome clock? Thanks for sharing as always.

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:47 pm

Thank you so much! The clock is from RH.

  • Kari October 29, 2015 at 11:37 pm

You home is so beautiful! Could you share your paint color? I love the lightness with a tad bit of grey 😉 Thanks

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:48 pm

Kari, you nailed it! I wanted something light and warm but still gray. Almost a cool-toned putty color. Unfortunately, it’s a custom shade… one I just made up as we went along (50% this, 25% that etc) and kept tweaking until it was just right.

  • sara October 29, 2015 at 11:57 pm

Please!!!!! Tell me your type of camera. I love your photos!!!! 🙂

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:49 pm

      It’s a Canon 5D Mark iii xo

  • Michelle October 30, 2015 at 1:23 am

    Absolutely love it!!! Looks adorable!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:49 pm

      Thank you kindly, Michelle!

  • Kari October 30, 2015 at 3:43 am

Seriously obsessed!! Your home is absolutely perfect! Do you mind sharing where you found the wall art with all of the sayings on it? I love it!

    • Carrie October 30, 2015 at 6:32 pm

Hi Kari- I hope Missy doesn’t mind me replying but the wall art is listed in the links under the last picture “family motto” 🙂

      • Kari October 31, 2015 at 1:59 am

        Thanks! 🙂

  • mary beth October 30, 2015 at 4:29 am

Love your rooms, so beautiful (and the decorations are fun too). What is your white wall color please? If you could share 🙂

  • Julie October 30, 2015 at 6:07 am

Love it missy! I have been eyeballing your coffee table/trunk and clock! Ahh one day. LOVE your home! Miss you!!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:50 pm

Miss you mucho, Julie! One of these days we’ll play at the beach… yes?!

  • Hayley October 31, 2015 at 1:33 am

PERFECTION!! I seriously want my house like this! And I wish wish wish you would do a home decor post linking all your furniture!! xx, Hayley http://www.dailydoseofdarling.com

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:51 pm

We still have some more work to do with adding more decor etc; but thank you so much for your sweet praises!

  • Stephanie October 31, 2015 at 4:37 pm

your decor is beautiful, but my main question is how you find the time, with 3 kiddos, to keep such a beautiful house. please share your secrets!!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:51 pm

Hahaha! I hear you, Stephanie! We try to run things like a well-oiled machine around here. Emphasis on TRY! ha 🙂

  • Randi November 1, 2015 at 6:46 am

Missy it was so fun to meet you and your darling family! You have such a beautiful home. I love all of your touches and perfect mix of old and new pieces! You’re are doll and it was a dream to meet you after reading your blog after all of these years! Come see me if you’re ever in AZ! ❤️ Randi

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:52 pm

I couldn’t agree more, Randi! SO fun to meet you! I’m sure it won’t be the last of our run-in’s. At least, I hope not! xo

  • Lori November 1, 2015 at 11:56 am

Absolute perfection Missy! I love it! Do you mind sharing your wall color? It looks whiter/greyer then the color did when you originally painted it? Maybe my eyes are deceiving me. Also would you mind sharing where your light fixture came from over your dining room table? Gorgeous. =)

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:54 pm

Yes, it’s the same as it’s always been. Again, I wish I could be of more help but it’s a custom paint match. Just kept adding a little of this and a little of that until it was just right. Paint is SO tricky, especially when you’re trying to get it to match your countertops (like we were). As far as the lights, it’s just three pendant lights (I can find the exact brand, possibly, if you’d like).

  • Michelle November 1, 2015 at 1:52 pm

I can’t stop looking at these pictures! I’m in love with it all!! What brand are your boots? I love them!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:54 pm

I’m SO happy you’re enjoying it! The boots are old Durango’s.

  • Michelle November 1, 2015 at 6:29 pm

Hi Missy! Where did you get that beautiful dough bowl? Thanks!

    • missy November 2, 2015 at 10:54 pm

The bowl is an antique. xo 🙂

  • Shalee November 3, 2015 at 12:47 am

Always beautiful! Love the string web. I have tons of that stuff and would never have thought to make a web out of it. Next year! I’ll have to look up how to do it. Ha!

  • jenedy November 3, 2015 at 11:43 am

Wow. That’s all. Oh yes, and I NEED that clock. Where did it come from?

  • B November 3, 2015 at 8:37 pm

Gorgeous! Can I ask where you got your white dishes from?

  • M&MFASHIONBITES November 3, 2015 at 10:37 pm

  • Ashley Olsen November 10, 2015 at 6:10 pm

Your decor is darling. I am wondering on your dish shelf you have a few bowls with white and black cows. I am on the hunt for something just like that. Would you mind sharing where they are from? Thank you! 🙂
