Easter

April 23, 2014

It was a beautiful Easter — sunshine, friends, jellybeans, and two new stuffed bunnies to add to our growing collection. First thing when Gage awoke, asked if it was time to look for eggs and if he could go meet the Easter bunny! First things first — church and then the egg hunt. I’m not sure if Beck was just tired or downright bewildered at all the colorful eggs poking out of the bushes; but he just stood there watching Gage fill his basket (which if you know B, that’s quite the opposite from his typical whirlwind nature). However, once he caught on that candy was inside, he collected a few and then parked it on the front steps to munch in the shade. In lieu of traditional ham and potatoes, the boys requested a brunch of sorts. Afterwards, we lingered around the table talking together, read stories with Grandma Marsha, and then took the bunnies out for some fresh air to watch the sun fade. It was a wonderful day and I’m thankful to have spent it with my favorite little family.

Wow, amazing house! What does your husband do for a living, work for the FBI?! You are seriously so blessed!

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:24 pm

Thank you kindly, Danica. This house was very short lived – literally. Explaining the story soon…

It looks like a beautiful Easter! Love the gorgeous table setting (and are those hydrangeas already blooming? Mine don’t start until mid-summer!)!

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:27 pm

I’m not sure what the trees are called; but there are a few in our neighborhood and they look exactly like hydrangeas — my favorite!

Beautiful pictures! Who’s lovely home is that? It’s stunning! I hope you and your family had a wonderful day 🙂 Btw camera specs please? I have a 55 mm lens(on a Nikon DSLR, but it doesn’t seem to do well outdoors (in well lit areas, it’s awesome indoors/low light situations).

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:28 pm

Hi Paige! It’s our new home. We bought it back in January but haven’t moved in. The whole story is coming soon… For outdoor pics in direct sun – I tend to look for a shady spot for best results.

  • Amy Morris April 23, 2014 at 4:20 pm

Beautiful pics. Is that your new house? Looks like a fun day!

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:29 pm

Yes, it is. A crazy story about it all coming soon.

  • Katie Sabatos April 23, 2014 at 4:39 pm

Looks like a wonderful day!! Where are the bunny plates from?

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:29 pm

      World Market – on sale!!

  • Mary April 23, 2014 at 8:25 pm

There’s no integrity to anything you post. It’s all pieced together bullshit. Poser.

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:29 pm

Disappointed you feel this way. Sincerely wish you the best.

    • Stephanie Boucher July 19, 2014 at 4:38 am

I am confused at your use of the word integrity here. Integrity means adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. She is taking pictures from her everyday private life, and showing the world who her and her family is. But along with that, I have never seen a distasteful or inappropriate picture of anyone in her family. I do not see how she is not adhering to her moral principals, or how she is being dishonest in any way. From what I have seen, Missy is a very kind, smart, beautiful, fun, and happy person. I takes a lot of time and creativity to do what she does and for that, I give her a ton of credit. As for her being a poser? Blogging can be about anything and everything. It doesn’t have to have a certain theme or message. What is she posing as? I see an amazing mother, a great wife, a good true friend, a very good and inspired blogger, and an all around good person.

I love bunnies. When my husby and I have a baby I want the nursery to be peter rabbit themed! Those plates are adorable!

    • missy April 24, 2014 at 6:30 pm

We love Peter Rabbit around here – plus it’s gender neutral! Good choice, friend.

Like my momma always says ” people will hate on you no matter what”. I always try to live by this because it’s true. Sorry for the nasty comments but if this is what you love to do. Just keep doing it because I will keep reading and I’m sure a lot more will too.

[…] Back up to January 1st, 2014 — a clean New Year ready to be filled asking, ‘What will happen for us this year?’ But this year was a little different. I got a glimpse into a piece of 2014 that was guaranteed to happen — a new home. […]

I follow a lot of blogs, and normally don’t read the comments on any post, but for some reason I read these comments today. People talk all the time about how hateful people are online, because it’s anonymous or whatever sorry excuse people try to give these folks. I’ve never really seen it until today. I honestly don’t understand what makes people troll the internet searching for something to try to tear down. I hope this “Mary” person is not accomplishing her goal. She must be a very lonely person to act out in such a way.

I love this blog. I think the photography is beautiful. I think her boys are adorable. I hope to capture my daughter’s life as well as Missy captures her boys lives.

I’m very sorry to see some person attack such a positive corner of the internet with such hate.

Loooove your blog 🙂 And your beautiful home. I happened to stumble accross your blog on Pintrest and I am OBSESSED. Your boys are the cutest. And love that you can kill those haters out there with kindness. They are usually the ones who need it most <3
