DIY Dad’s Day

June 12, 2014

In just a few days we’ll be celebrating the special guys in our lives! Making him feel loved and appreciated doesn’t have to take a ton of time or money. Bottom line, this fun little spread was put together in two days flat — one for collecting supplies; and the other for assembly. See? You’ve still got time!

I started with hinged wooden boxes from Michael’s that I’ve had my eye on for years (better now than never, right). Then it was as simple as putting together a few of his favorite things: munchies for a movie night together, coasters for the drinks (that can later be used at work), and a tie (because he can never have enough). This concept can easily be changed for the things that your guy loves most. I was thinking a BBQ set would be darling (bbq sauce, dry rub, a grilling cookbook) or even a collection of golf mementoes (balls, tees, ball markers, snacks etc). Really, anything goes and the end result will have him in smiles!

All supplies (other than the goodies and tie) can be purchased at Michael’s. And a special thanks to my brother for being the hand model! Ha! Oh and please, if you know Ry personally, all of this is still a secret. He gave me his word he wouldn’t peek. Heaven knows he has more self control than I do when it comes to gifts!

A very Happy Father’s Day to you and yours!

I love how you put this gift together. So lovely! I now need a Michael’s trip stat to get those perfect wooden boxes. Did you make the coasters?
