Christmas Family Date Night

December 11, 2014

Christmas with children is magical — heightened to whole new level. There’s no way to describe it other than, I would never want to share christmas with anyone else than my own little family. Their eyes of wonder watching twinkly lights. Little voices that squeal with delight anticipating meeting Santa. Holding hands everywhere they go. Smiles over cocoa. Playing hide n’ seek in amongst Christmas trees. Carols blasting while we trimmed the tree in our cozy new home. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better night; my heart literally bursting at the seams.

Your Christmas goes just like mine, it’s all about my little family..including the fur babies. Now Missy, you have moved into this gorgeous new house and we only get to see little background of the house, please take pictures so we can see it, been dying to see full shots 🙂

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:29 pm

Trying to get you a tour, I promise! I want to be proud of what I put out there for you all to see and it’s just not there yet. Waiting on a lot of furniture and decor; but trying to give you a better glimpse!

  • Angelica December 11, 2014 at 9:16 pm

Love your ornaments and your cute family! Do you mind sharing where you got the ornaments?

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:28 pm

      Costco, this year!!!

  • dawn December 12, 2014 at 12:58 am

so sweet! what kind of lights are you using on your tree…they look different and I love them 🙂 also, the ornaments where oh where did you find those?? 🙂 congrats on your sweet baby girl!!

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:28 pm

Lights are called “Twinkle Lights” they have a thin string and tiny bulbs (with a setting that makes them twinkle). Makes your tree sparkle!! The majority of the ornaments are actually from Costco, believe it or not! Score!

  • Nathalie December 12, 2014 at 1:30 am

Those lights look magical! Beautiful night alongside your family. Would you share where you got the booties you are wearing?

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:27 pm

What a beautiful family & lovely pictures!
What type of camera do you use? Those pics of the trees & kids with lights were so pretty-any tips?
    Thank you! Happy Holidays!

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:27 pm

I have a Canon 5D Mark iii. Shoot at a low aperture, higher ISO, and moderate shutter to avoid blur! I believe these were taken at 2.0 aperture.

  • Ashley December 12, 2014 at 1:01 pm

I can’t wait to see more pictures of your house!

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:26 pm

I’m working like a busy bee to try and get it put together enough to do a “mini tour” for Christmas! Send any little fairy helpers for help! ha!

  • Kelley December 12, 2014 at 2:32 pm

How are you liking your new location? We are planning a move at the end of the school year (2 kids- 8 and 3 yrs) and CANNOT wait! Any insider info welcome! Love the blog and all your great tutorials!!

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:20 pm

We love our new home and new town; but recently visited our old home and feelings were still very bittersweet. I guess you never really get over a place you’ve had two of your babies. I’d be happy to help with your move in any way I can… just let me know what you’re in need of advice for! xo

  • Amanda December 16, 2014 at 2:17 pm

So what gives?? I see people asking questions about your outfit, and in previous posts questions about hair, nail color ect. Many of which are things I’d like to know too, but refrain from asking to avoid you answering the same question over and over. In the past, you used to always respond to questions asked by your followers. And now, you don’t even respond. So, what gives??

    • missy December 16, 2014 at 3:10 pm

My sincerest apologies, Amanda. My little family has been very very sick for over a week and I haven’t had an opportunity to respond. Am doing so now and hope you can understand the delay. Again, so very sorry I’ve disappointed you! 🙁

  • Courtney Bentley December 16, 2014 at 2:41 pm

do you mind providing a link to the lights on your tree? I tried looking for “twinkle lights” but can’t seem to find those. And your tree is gorgeous! is it a balsam fir? Love your blog 🙂

    • missy February 10, 2015 at 10:15 pm

Can’t remember what type of tree we ended up getting. It’s not a balsam (those are the classic thick evergreens)…

  • Kelly @ Turned up to Eleven! December 22, 2014 at 6:28 pm

I love the huge tree, and the bigger than life ornaments!! You all look so cute, and cozy! Merry Christmas! Enjoy your first in your new home! ox
