Bedbugs

July 30, 2012

Getting one bug in bed can be challenging enough. Throwing another one into the mix feels more like juggling while walking a tightrope (almost impossible to do without feeling out of control).

After having a few months under our belt, less balls are dropping and we’re getting into the rhythm of this two bedbugs thing.

Of course, it doesn’t ALWAYS go as scheduled. But when it does most nights, the sense of accomplishment is awesome. And the littles are happier for it too.

After some requests, here’s a glimpse into how it all goes down around sundown. Plus… a few of our must-have bedtime favorites!

Looks like you’ve got yourself a nice little routine! I knew you’d find a rhythm sooner rather than later. Good job Mama!

I have been obsessing over your blog after stumbling upon it by accident (a very happy accident) a few months ago and am so blown away by everything you do! You have two little ones and yet find the time to make gorgeous, healthy dinners/deserts and are always so put together. I also love how you and your family find time to go on cute outings and have picnics. Seriously amazing, what an inspiration!!

Thank you for sharing your ideas….

wow your so lucky you get your toddler down that early! what time does he wake up?

    • missy August 1, 2012 at 1:39 am

He wakes up at 7:00. I’ve found that the earlier he goes to bed the later he sleeps in (sounds counter-intuitive) but it’s true. It seems like if you rob Peter to pay Paul it’ll work to your benefit. Keep them up late they’ll sleep in, right? That’s never worked for us and I’ve read that in several books. Regardless of whether he goes down at 7 or 9 he still wakes up around 7. And even the opposite has happened… he wakes up earlier when he stays up late.
