About

Felt awkward writing ’bout myself. So that’s when Husby stepped in to interview me. Hopefully this’ll give you a sparkle into what makes me me…

Why Pink Pistachio? How & Why Did it Happen?

Because it’s a creative outlet and definitive way to keep me on the path of becoming better. A better me. A better wife & mother. A better friend. Just an overall better person in general. I love to give advice and share things that I’m passionate about. This is a way to share it with more than those who know me personally. If I can be of help to others all while helping my family and myself? Then sign me up. She {pink pistachio} got started way back in ’09 after a bad car accident. I was recovering from a neck fracture/other ailments and was pretty much bed ridden for months. It killed me that I was away from teaching {1st graders} so I had to stay busy. I started blogging. I had 3 blogs {yes, I was VERY bored}. After recovery: I got preggers, went back to teaching, and worked retail. Life got crazy and blogging took a backseat. Concerned emails from readers started flooding in about why I wasn’t writing. I had the babe and time devoted to blogging hit rock bottom. But the emails kept coming. Once I bounced back from having a baby, I kept thinking about my abandoned readers. I prayed about it – to blog or not to blog {seems silly, i know}. But I just felt like turning Pink Pistachio into a “one stop shop” for “making life a plethora of cuteness” was the next step in my life. And Voila. We’re here…

If you were an animal what would you be?

I’d be my dog LuLu. She sleeps all day, gets plenty of spoiling, and hasn’t a care in the world. Doesn’t hurt that she’s absolutely adorable either.

What is your favorite color?

I think this kinda goes without saying, doesn’t it? Hmmm… just a hunch but I’m going to go with pink. final answer. All pink aside, I’m a very colorful person and appreciate color, especially those found in nature.

What is your favorite drink?

It’s a tie. I have more than one favorite. Lots actually. But… going with – Passion {herbal} Ice Tea Lemonade & Ganache Hot Chocolate.

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Well, pretty much what I’ve got on tap for this week’s menu. I’m not a grocery store “binge” buyer. I basically only buy the ingredients I need to make yummy meals. Oh yeah, and both of our babys’ food {Bug & Bubba}. If I had to elaborate more; I’d say the staple items would include: berries {at least 2 kinds}, coconut milk {bc I can’t survive without it}, and an abundance of recycled jars containing homemade sauces & dressing {pretty much looks like an apothecary shop on the bottom shelf}.

What was the last movie you went to see?

Honestly, can’t even remember what it was called. If I remember right, it was one you wanted to see. Haha. It cost as much as buying a brand new blu ray from the store. And we walked out bc of the crude content. We’re more of the weekly Redbox type. Order take out or whip up something easy to eat, cuddle up, and enjoy it more knowing it only cost us a buck!

How many gas stations would you say there are in the United States?

Jeepers! Really, Loverbuns? Is this meant to highlight that I’m blonde? I was a 1st grade teacher for a reason – bc any grade higher I wouldn’t be qualified to teach. Going to have to say, not enough. Because if there were more – maybe the stinkin’ prices would go down?

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

Someone fun and bubbly, can hold her own, all while still taken seriously. Reese Witherspoon.

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?

To control time. Seems like there are the most perfect times that just need freezing, so we can enjoy them longer. And then those imperfect times that need ffwding at the fastest rate possible!

If you had only six months left to live, what would you do with the time?

Sad day. Don’t ask me this. I want to cry just thinking about it. Oh, I know! I’d use my super power {mentioned above} and freeze time. No really, the time would be spent completing my bucket list with those I love most. Elaborate more? Kay. Travel to places I’ve wanted to see since childhood. Make amazing meals for amazing people. Try to leave my mark on everything I touch {leave it better than it was before}. Share my religious beliefs with others who had less time to live. And make sure my loved ones know exactly how much they mean to me.

If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?

Hopefully anything organic (not full of pesticides and chemicals). I guess that’s kinda an irrelevant answer, right? Chemicals make my hair blonde a cute blonde and my teeth white. Oops. I guess I’d be food labeled “all natural” (90% is real).

If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?

I guess the answer I just gave about the type of food didn’t make the cut! haha. Dressing? I’d have to say, Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette – tart & sweet with a kick of heat. It’s a very well rounded dressing {at least I hope to be, one day}.

Who do you like best, your mom or dad?

Both are equal besties in my book. Dad provides the detailed “lets figure this out step by step”, instant “go to” for sound advice & amazing hugs. Mom is my creative heroine, who I’ve learned all my skills from, and “tells it like it is”. Both are best friends.

How would you design a spice rack for a blind person?

I’d obviously use braille. But adding a scratch and sniff element to the jars would just make it fun and more enjoyable to cook!

What makes you angry?

When people hurt others. Laziness. Dishonesty. Bad hair days {dye job/cut}. Unfortunately, you know the later all too well. BEEP BEEP, “Stay clear of the hornet. I repeat, stay clear of the hornet.”

What’s the most important part of a sandwich?

If made correctly and with good ingredients, most definitely the smile it brings to the happy eater!

On a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you?

On most days, an 8 or 9, but would be a 10 if you’d surprise me with that new bakeware set and/or jacket I’ve been hinting at! hint hint… wink wink…

What’s your favorite article of clothing? Makeup product?

Jeans. I don’t think I could ever have enough. It might be the feeling I get wearing a new pair. It’s like I’ve had a makeover. Makeup?I’m not an overly makeup junky. I do however have a major problem slash obsession with polish. In Jr. High I was known to change my polish daily to match my outfit {embarrassing, yes}.

Finally, tell me about the love of your life?

Sweets, you just lookin’ for warm fuzzies or what? Or course, he’s incredibly sweet, good looking, and smart. And not to mention, the most amazing daddy to the other love of my life. He’s the true definition of “baby blue eyes”. Both make me the the happiest girl in the world.
