30 Pieces of Wisdom

January 31, 2014

To the Boys Who Hold My Heart,

Never touch anything with only half of your heart. Be present, endlessly loving, and compassionate towards others. Confront any challenge with a deep breath. Think love before speaking. Before reacting, look for understanding. Be patient with yourself. Eat breakfast every morning. Say a prayer of gratitude every night. Smile. Find the rainbows in the raindrops. Live life slow enough to find beauty in the small things. Never suppress a generous thought. Keep trying with faith as the wind beneath your sail. Adore, cherish, and respect the women in your life. Treat your body kindly. Serve when you feel sad. Make every day happy. Remember your life is part of a grand design with only a role that you can fulfill. Don’t be embarrassed to feel, cry, laugh, sing, dance, or love. Even if you stand alone, stand tall in making the right choices. Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the people you can. Never be afraid to ask heaven for help. Let the sun warm your back. Let the stars stand as a reminder that nothing is by random. Do what you love. Find joy in the journey — for that is what life is really about — life worth living, joyfully.

Love You More Than All the Stars in the Sky,
Mom
